PROPIEDADES FARMACODINÁMICAS: ARTRODAR® es un agente oral novedoso, desarrollado para el tratamiento de osteoartrosis. El ingrediente activo de ARTRODAR® es diacereína, que actúa inhibiendo la producción de interleuquina-1 (IL-1) y disminuyendo la actividad colagenolítica de las metaloproteasas.
¿Qué contraindicaciones tiene el Artrodar?
Contraindicaciones y Advertencias: Hipersensibilidad a la Diacereína, a sustancia de estructura similar o a cualqueira de los excipientes. Enfermedad inflamatoria intestinal, como colitis ulcerosa o enfermedad de Crohn. Obstrucción o pseudo-obstrucción intestinal, insuficiencia renal o hepática grave. Niños.
¿Cómo se debe tomar el Artrodar?
Modo de administración Vía oral. Administrar por la mañana y por la noche durante o después de la comida.

How long Diacerein can be taken?
The recommended starting dose is 50 mg once daily with evening meal for the first 2 to 4 weeks of treatment, after which the recommended daily dose is 50 mg twice daily. The treatment should be taken with food, one with breakfast and the other with evening meal.
Is Diacerein FDA approved?
Diacerein (DCN) was obtained by diacetylation of an anthraquinone derivative rhein and was approved by FDA in 2008, in the treatment of osteoarthritis due to its inhibitory effect on proinflammatory cytokines, including IL-6 and IL-1β.
Who should not take diacerein?
Due to the risks associated with severe diarrhoea, diacerein is no longer recommended in patients aged 65 years and above. It is also advised that patients start treatment on half the normal dose (i.e. 50 mg daily instead of 100 mg) and should stop taking diacerein if diarrhoea occurs.
Is diacerein safe?
